지네는 한국, 미국, 전 세계 각처에서 사는 절지동물의 1종이다.
독이 없는 보통 지네에 물렸을 때는 벌에 쏘여 국소 반응이 생겼을 때와 같이 물린 상처가 조금 아프고 붓는 국소 반응이 생길 수 있다.
그렇지만 미국 남부 지역에서 사는 독 지네에 물리면 물린 상처에 감각 마비가 생길 수 있고 지네 독이 전신으로 퍼져 눈물, 콧물, 침, 땀, 구토, 불안, 전신경련, 혼수 등 전신 과민반응이 생길 수 있고 죽을 수 있다.
지네에 물린 후 신증후군이 생길 수 있다.

지네에 물린 상처(지네 교상)의 치료

독이 없는 보통 지네에 물렸을 때는 병원 응급실이나 단골 소아청소년과에 긴급으로 전화해 그들의 지시에 따라 1차 응급치료를 한다.
깨끗한 물이나 비눗물로 깨끗이 씻고 베타다인액 살균제나 다른 종류의 살균제로 상처를 살균 치료한다.
파상풍 백신으로 파상풍예방 접종을 권장에 따라 받는다.
