접형동염(나비동염) Sphenoid sinusitis(Sphenoiditis)

접형동에 생긴 감염을 접형동염이라고 한다.
박테리아 감염으로 생긴 접형동염을 박테라성 접형동염이라 한다.
급성으로 생기면 급성 접형동염, 만성으로 생기면 만성 접형동염이라고 한다.

페렴연쇄상구균, 그 외 다른 종류의 연쇄상구균, 황색 포도상구균, 비 황색 포도상구균, 그람 음성균, 또는 곰팡이균 등 병원체 감염으로 접형동염이 생길 수 있다.
바이러스 감염으로 접형동염이 생길 수 있다.

접형동염(나비동염)의 증상 징후

전두 통증이나, 측두 통증, 안구 후두부 통증이 심하게 생길 수 있다.
그런 두통이 후두부로 전파될 수 있다.
또 그런 통증이 3차 뇌신경의 분포에 따라 생기기도 한다.
비경으로 비강을 들여다보면 고름과 비슷한 짙은 분비물이 중 비갑개, 또는 상 비갑개로 분비되어 있는 것을 볼 수 있다.

접형동염(나비동염)의 진단

증상 징후, 병력, 진찰소견 등을 참작해 부비동 CT 스캔 검사, 부비동 X-선 검사, 그람 염색 세균 현미경 검사, 세균 배양검사, MRI 검사 등으로 진단한다.

접형동염(나비동염)의 합병증과 치료

안구 주위염, 뇌막염, 뇌 정맥혈전 등의 합병증이 생길 수 있다.
병원에 입원치료 하고, 항생제 정맥 주사, 수술 배농 치료를 한다.

Sphenoid sinusitis (Sphenoiditis) 접형동염(나비동염)

• Infection of the sphenoid sinus is called sphenoid sinusitis.

• Sphenoiditis caused by bacterial infection is called bactericidal sinusitis.

• If it is acute, it is called acute sphenoid sinusitis, and if it is chronic, it is called chronic sphenoid sinusitis.

• Sphenoiditis can be caused by an infection with a pathogen such as Streptococcus pneumoniae, other types of streptococci, Staphylococcus aureus, non-staphylococcus aureus, Gram-negative bacteria, or fungi.

• Viral infection can cause sphenoid sinusitis.

Signs, symptoms of sphenoid sinusitis

• Frontal pain, temporal pain, or occipital pain may be severe.

• Such headaches can spread to the back of the head.

• Also, such pain may occur according to the distribution of the trigeminal cranial nerve.

• If you look into the nasal passages through the nasal passages, you can see that thick, pus-like secretions are secreted into the middle or upper turbinates.

Diagnosis of sphenoid sinusitis

• Diagnosis is made with a sinus CT scan, sinus X-ray, Gram-stained microscopy, bacterial culture, and MRI, taking into account symptomatic signs, medical history, and examination findings.

Complications and treatment of sphenoid sinusitis

• Complications such as periocularitis, meningitis, and cerebral venous thrombosis may occur.

• Hospitalization, intravenous antibiotics, and surgical drainage.
