약물과 난청 Drugs and hearing difficulty

어떤 종류든 약물 주사를 맞거나 경구로 섭취하거나 귓구멍을 통해, 또는 외이도 속에 넣거나 기도 속으로 흡입해 치료받을 때 약물에 의해서 청력장애가 생길 수 있다.
약물치료 중, 약물의 종류에 따라 약물로 난청이나 귀머거리가 더 잘 생길 수 있습니다.

과량의 아스피린으로 치료를 받을 때 귀속에서 이명증 등 이상한 소리가 날 수 있다.
스트렙토마이신, 카나마이신, 젠타마이신, 또는 토브라마이신과 그 외 다른 여러 종류의 항생제로 치료 받을 때 내이에 있는 청신경이 손상되어 난청이 생길 수 있고 귀머거리가 될 수 있다.
어려서 미숙해 말을 할 줄 모르는 영유아들에게 있는 어떤 병을 어떤 종류의 약물로 치료할 때 영유아가 귀를 자주 비빈다든지 갑자기 말이나 소리를 잘 알아듣지 못할 때는 약물로 난청이 생기는지 주의 깊게 관찰해야 한다.
말을 할 줄 아는 아이들에게 있는 어떤 병을 약물로 치료할 때 귀속에서 이상한 소리가 난다든지 소리가 잘 안 들린다고 하면 치료에 쓰던 약물을 즉시 중단하고 의사에게 문의해야 한다.

• Drugs of any kind can cause hearing impairment when administered by injection, ingestion, through the ear canal, into the ear canal, or by inhalation into the airways.

• During medication, depending on the type of medication, the medication may make you more prone to hearing loss or deafness.

• When you are treated with an overdose of aspirin, you may hear strange sounds, such as tinnitus, in your ears.

• Treatment with streptomycin, kanamycin, gentamicin, or tobramycin and several other antibiotics can damage the auditory nerve in the inner ear, causing hearing loss and deafness.

When treating certain diseases in young children who are immature and unable to speak with any kind of medication, if the infant frequently rubs their ears or suddenly cannot understand speech or sounds, carefully monitor for drug-induced hearing loss.

• If you are taking medication for a disease in children who can speak and you notice strange noises in your ears or difficulty in hearing, you should immediately stop the medication and contact your doctor.
