안구 내 이물 Intraocular foreign bodies

날카롭고 작은 쇠붙이나 나무 부스러기 등이 안구 속을 향해 힘세게 날아와서 각막을 완전히 뚫은 후 안구 속 깊숙이 들어온 이물은 안구 내 이물이라고 한다.
이물이 안구의 전방 내, 후방 내, 또는 초자체 내에 들어 있을 수 있다.

안구 내 이물의 증상 징후

이물이 안구 속 어느 부위에 있는지, 이물의 크기와 종류, 안구에 생긴 상처의 크기, 눈에 생긴 다른 외상의 유무 등에 따라 증상 징후가 다르다.
작고 날카로운 이물이 각막 전층을 뚫고 안구 속으로 들어가는 동안 눈이 심하게 아플 수 있다.
그 후 얼마 동안 별다른 증상 징후가 없을 수 있다.
그렇지만 거의 대부분의 안구 내 이물이 있을 때는 눈이 붓고 아프고 붉어진다.
햇빛이나 전등불에 비치면 눈이 부시다.

안구 내 이물의 진단 치료

병력, 증상 징후와 진찰소견 등을 종합해서 안구 내 이물을 진단할 수 있다.
이물이 안구 깊숙이 들어 가 있다고 의심되면 안과에나 병원 응급실로 급히 데리고 가 치료받아야한다.

• A foreign object that enters deep into the eye after a sharp and small metal or wood shavings flies into the eyeball and penetrates the cornea completely is called an intraocular foreign object.

• A foreign body may be in the anterior, posterior, or vitreous of the eye.

Symptoms, Signs of Foreign Objects in the Eyeball

• Symptoms differ depending on where the foreign body is located in the eye, the size and type of the foreign body, the size of the eye wound, and whether or not there is any other trauma to the eye.

• While a small, sharp foreign body pierces the entire cornea and enters the eyeball, it can cause severe eye pain.

• You may not have any symptoms for a while after that.

• However, in most cases with a foreign body in the eye, the eye becomes swollen, painful, and red.

• It is dazzling when exposed to sunlight or a lamp.

Diagnosis and treatment of foreign bodies in the eye

• A foreign body in the eye can be diagnosed by synthesizing the medical history, symptom signs, and examination findings.

• If you suspect that a foreign body has entered your eyeball, you should immediately take it to an ophthalmologist or hospital emergency room for treatment.
