안검염 Blepharitis

안검염의 원인

눈꺼풀(안검)의 가장자리에 생긴 염증을 안검염이라고 한다.
눈꺼풀의 가장자리에 난 아토피성 피부염이나 지루성 피부염으로 안검염이 생길 수 있다.

황색 포도상구균이 눈꺼풀 가장자리에 침입할 때도 안검염이 생길 수 있다.
아토피성 피부염이나 지루성 피부염이 눈꺼풀의 가장자리에 있을 때는 황색 포도상구균이 눈꺼풀 가장자리에 더 잘 침입해서 안검염을 더 잘 일으킬 수 있다.

안검염의 증상 징후, 진단

눈꺼풀의 가장자리가 붉고 거기에 하얀 비늘 같은 작은 딱지가 생길 수 있다.
눈꺼풀이 조금 아프고 가려우며 속눈썹이 빠지기도 한다.
안검염은 만성으로 생길 수 있고, 또 재발될 수 있다. 또 안검염과 결막염이나 각막염이 동시 생길 수 있다.
병력·증상과 진찰소견 등을 종합해서 진단한다.

안검염의 치료

아토피 피부염이나 지루성 피부염으로 생긴 안검염은 스테로이드제 연고나 크림을 1일 3, 4회, 4~5일간 발라 주면 대개 잘 낫는다.
그러나 재발될 수 있다.
황색 포도상구균이 눈꺼풀의 가장자리에 침입해서 생긴 안검염은 배시트라신 안연고나 토브라마이신 안연고 등을 1일 4회, 10일간 발라 주면 잘 낫는다.
황색 포도상구균 안검염은 잘 재발될 수 있다.

Causes of blepharitis

• Inflammation at the edge of the eyelid is called blepharitis.

• Atopic dermatitis or seborrheic dermatitis on the edge of the eyelids can cause blepharitis.

• Blepharitis can also occur when Staphylococcus aureus invades the edges of the eyelids.

• When atopic dermatitis or seborrheic dermatitis is on the edge of the eyelid, Staphylococcus aureus is more likely to invade the edge of the eyelid and cause blepharitis.

Symptoms, Signs, Diagnosis

• The edges of the eyelids are red and there may be small white scale-like crusts. • My eyelids are a little sore and itchy, and my eyelashes sometimes fall out. • Blepharitis can be chronic and can recur. In addition, blepharitis and conjunctivitis or keratitis may occur simultaneously.

• Diagnosis is made by combining medical history, symptoms, and examination findings.

Treatment of blepharitis

• Blepharitis caused by atopic dermatitis or seborrheic dermatitis usually gets better if you apply steroid ointment or cream 3, 4 times a day, for 4-5 days.

• However, it can recur.

• Blepharitis caused by Staphylococcus aureus invading the edge of the eyelids can be cured by applying bacitracin eye ointment or tobramycin eye ointment 4 times a day for 10 days.

• Staphylococcus aureus blepharitis can recur.
