신생아 척추 골절(등뼈 골절)의 원인

드물게 난산으로 신생아의 척추가 골절될 수 있다.
출생 이후 신생아가 어디서 떨어지든지 아동학대(소아 학대), 또 안전사고 등으로 신생아의 척추가 골절될 수 있다.

신생아 척추 골절(등뼈 골절)의 증상 징후

척추 골절의 정도·원인·골절된 척추의 부위·합병증의 유무 등에 따라 증상 징후가 다르다.
척추가 심하게 골절되면 척수신경 마비가 동반되는 것이 보통이다.
골절된 척추 부분에서 나온 척수신경과 그 척수신경에서 나오는 말초신경들이 분포되는 몸통이나 팔다리 등의 근육에 완전 마비가 생길 수 있다.
마비된 말초신경으로 분포된 근육이 있는 신체 부위에 운동 장애 및, 또는 감각 장애가 생길 수 있다.
예를 들면, 팔에 분포되는 상박 신경총 등 척수 말초 신경이 마비될 때 그 쪽 팔에 운동 장애가 생겨 그 쪽 팔을 잘 움직이지도 못하고, 또 거기에 감각 장애가 올 수 있다.

병력·증상 징후·진찰소견 등을 종합해서 척추 골절이 의심되면 척추 X선 사진·척추 CT 스캔·척추 MRI 사진 등으로 진단한다.

신생아 척추 골절(등뼈 골절)의 치료

원인·증상 징후·정도·합병증의 유무 등에 따라 치료한다.
소아청소년과 전문의, 정형외과 전문의와 신경외과 전문의, 재활 물리치료 전문의 등으로부터 치료를 받아야 한다.
