신생아의 식도에서 항문까지의 소화기계의 일부분 또는 대부분이 다음과 같이 여러 가지의 원인으로 인해 여러 형태로 막힐 수 있다.
다음 원인으로 식도·위·십이지장·소장·결장(대장)·직장·항문 등의 일부분 또는 전 부분이 선천적으로, 또는 후천적으로 완전히 또는 불완전하게 막힐 수 있다.
- 환상췌장
- 선천성 식도 폐쇄
- 선천성 기관 식도간 누관(루)
- 비후성 유문 협착증
- 장축염증
- 선천성 거대결장
- 태변성 장폐색증
- 장중첩증
- 서혜부탈장 감돈
- 무공항문(쇄항증)
- 장폐쇄증 등으로 신생아의 식도나 위장 등이 막힐 수 있다.
