시신경 위축(시각신경 위축) Optic atrophy – 제1권. 소아청소년 응급의료

시신경 축삭(돌기)에 퇴행 변성이 생겨 시신경의 기능이 상실되는 병을 시신경 위축이라고 한다.
선천성으로 시신경에 병변이 생기거나 후천성으로 시신경에 병변이 생겼을 때도 시신경 위축이라는 말을 쓰기도 한다.

시신경 위축의 원인

유두부종,
시신경염,
시신경 압박,
시신경 교차 압박,
유전성 망막염,
녹내장, 레버(Leber’s) 시신경 위축,
외상,
염증,
퇴행변성,
종양,
혈관계 이상,
두개골 내의 종양,
뇌막염 등은 소아 시신경 위축의 주원인이 된다.
영아 시신경 위축증은 상염색체 우성으로 유전된다.
염색체 약성으로 유전되는 시신경 위축도 있다.
벨(Behr) 시신경 위축은 유전성 질환이다.
때로는 확실한 원인을 찾을 수 없다.

시신경 위축의 증상 징후

원인에 따라서 증상 징후가 다르다.
시력이 약하거나 상실될 수 있다.

시신경 위축의 진단 치료

증상 징후, 병력, 검진 등으로 진단할 수 있다.
진찰상 시신경 유두가 위축되어 있는 것이 보통이다.
치료는 원인에 따라 한다.
