달리기, 넓이 뛰기, 축구 등의 운동을 하는 8~14세 학령기 아이들이나 사춘기 아이들에게 흔히 생길 수 있는 종골 골단염이다.
발꿈치가 아프고 발꿈치를 짜듯이 꼭 잡으면 아픈 증상이 생기는 것이 특징이다.
RICE 치료(털프 족지의 RICE 참조), 컵 부목, 물리치료 등으로 치료한다.
X선 사진 검사결과가 정상으로 나오는 것이 보통이다.

• It is common calcaneal osteomyelitis in 8-14-year-old school-age children or adolescents who engage in sports such as running, wide jumping, and soccer.

• It is characterized by pain in the heel and painful symptoms when gripped tightly as if squeezing the heel.

• Treat with RICE therapy (see RICE for Turf Toe), cup splints, and physical therapy.

• It is normal for X-ray examination results to be normal.
