수유용 브라와 패드, Maternity bras and maternity pads(Nursing bras and pads)

  • 수유모가  브라를 꼭 입을 필요는 없다. 그러나 젖이 퉁퉁 불어 유방이 얼얼거리고 아프고 늘어질 때 브라를 입으면 한결 편안하고 유방이 덜 아플 수 있다. 분만 후 보통 브라를 입을 수 있지만 젖 먹이는 데 편리한 ‘수유용 브라’를 입으면 더 실용적이다.
  • ‘수유용 브라나 산모용 브라(Maternity bras)’는 수유할 때 브라를 다 벗지 않고 입고 있는 브라의 한 쪽 앞자락을 열어 그쪽 유방에 괸 젖을 아기에게 먹일 수 있도록 간편하게 만들어진 브라이다. 수유용 브라는 젖꼭지와 유방에 공기가 잘 유통될 수 있도록 주로 면직물로 만들어져 있다.
  • 몸에 잘 맞는 수유용 브라는 적어도 분만하기 1～2주 전에 사두는 것이 좋다. 이 때 유방 패드도 함께 산다. 유방 패드에는 쓰고 버리는 것과 빨아서 다시 사용할 수 있는 것이 있다. 때로는 청결한 손수건을 유방패드 대신에 사용할 수도 있다.
