  • 비타민 B₁ 결핍증의 정도는 다양하다.
  • 그에 따른 증상·징후도 다양하다.
  • 구미상실, 불안, 우울증, 구토, 구기, 근육통 등의 증상 징후가 생기고 쉽게 피로하거나 잘 보챈다.
  • 입맛이 떨어지고 소화 장애가 생기고 심장 쇠약이 생길 수 있다.
  • 심장이 심하게 쇠약해지면 몸통과 팔다리에 부종이 생길 수 있다.
  • 비타민 B₁ 결핍증으로 목이 쉬고, 심장이 쇠약해지고 다리가 붓는 증상 징후가 생기면 각기병이라고 한다.
  • 요즘 각기병에 걸일 수 있을 정도로 음식물을 못 먹어서 비타민 B₁ 결핍증이 생긴 아이를 찾아보기가 힘들다.
  • 비타민 B₁은 간, 돼지고기 등 육류, 해산물, 우유, 모유, 곡물 등에 풍부히 들어있다.

비타민 B₁결핍증의 진단

  • 병력 증상 진찰소견 등을 종합해서 이 병을 진단한다.

비타민 B₁결핍증의 치료

  • 균형 잡힌 음식물을 섭취하고 비타민 B₁이 든 종합 비타민제로 치료한다.
