복합 열성 경련(복합 열 경기) Complex febrile seizures
- 열로 생기는 경련을 단순 열 발작(단순 열성 경련/Simple febrile seizure)과 복합 열 발작(복합 열성 경련/Complex febrile seizures)으로 나눌 수 있다.
- 대부분의 열성 경련은 몇 분 내지 수분 동안 계속되고 자기 한정성이고 양성 경련이다. 이런 열성 경련을 단순 열성 경련이라고 한다.
- 열성 경련을 했던 아이들 중 ⅔는 일생 동안 열성 경련을 한 번만 한다.
- 드물게는 열성 경련이 15~ 30분 동안 또는 그 이상 오랫동안 지속될 수 있다.
- 1/5에서는 열성 경련을 할 때 초점성 경련을 했고 첫 열성 경련을 한 후 24시간 이내에 한번 이상 열성 경련을 또 했고, 또 열성 경련이 15분 이상 계속 됐다는 연구도 있다.
- 이런 열성 경련을 복합 열성 경련이라고 한다.
- 복합 열성 경련을 했던 아이들은 재발성 열성 경련을 할 가능성이 더 많다.
- 간질이 생길 가능성이 조금 더 높다고 한다.
- 복합 열성 경련을 할 때 응급 뇌 CT 스캔 검사나 뇌 MRI 검사를 했을 때와 단순 열성 경련을 했을 때 두개골 내 병변의 발견의 빈도에는 별 차이가 없다고 한다.

• Fever seizures can be divided into simple febrile seizures (simple febrile seizure) and complex febrile seizures (complex febrile seizures).
• Most febrile seizures last for minutes to minutes and are self-limiting and benign. These febrile seizures are called simple febrile seizures.
• Among children who have had febrile seizures, ⅔ will have febrile seizures only once in their lifetime.
• Rarely, febrile seizures can last for 15 to 30 minutes or longer.
• In 1/5, there were focal convulsions during febrile seizures, and there was another febrile convulsion at least once within 24 hours after the first febrile convulsion, and there are studies showing that the febrile convulsion continued for 15 minutes or more.
• These febrile seizures are called complex febrile seizures.
• Children who have had multiple febrile seizures are more likely to have recurrent febrile seizures.
• They are said to be a little more likely to develop epilepsy.
• There is no significant difference in the frequency of finding intracranial lesions when an emergency brain CT scan or brain MRI scan is performed for complex febrile seizures and when simple febrile seizures are performed.
