병적기절(병적 실신) Pathologic fainting(Pathologic syncope)

  • 심장질환, 혈관질환, 감염병, 또는 신경계 질환 등으로 단순기절과 비슷하게 실신할 수 있고 의식을 잃을 수 있다. 
  • 그 외 호흡정지 발작, 과 호흡증, 습관성 약물 남용, 독극물질 중독, 신진대사 이상 등으로도 기절할 수 있다. 
  • 이럴 때 생긴 기절은 단순 기절이라고 하지 않는다. 어떤 1차적 병이나 어떤 원인으로 인해 생긴 기절을 병적 실신 또는 병적 기절이라고 한다.
  • 기절을 하면 이 두 종류의 기절을 서로 감별 진단해야한다. 
  • 때로는 이 두 종류의 기절을 쉽게 감별할 수 없다.
  • 그 외  히스테리(전환 장애/전환 히스테리), 정신 정서적 문제, 기침, 빈혈 등으로 기절이 유발 될 수 있다. 
  • 이런 종류의 기절은 단순기절이라 하지 않고 병적 기절 또는 병적 실신이라 한다. 
  • 이뇨제, 베타 차단제(Beta-block agents)로 치료 받을 때 병적 기절이 생길 수 있다. 
  • 저혈당증, 경련, 졸중(Stroke), 편두통으로 병적기절이 유발 될 수 있다. 
  • 이런 기절은 비 심장 혈관계성 기절에 속한다(출처; Contemporary pediatrics, August 2008. p.29).

 

Pathologic fainting (Pathologic syncope) 병적기절(병적 실신)

• Heart disease, vascular disease, infectious disease, or nervous system disease can cause fainting and loss of consciousness similar to simple fainting.

• In addition, fainting may occur due to respiratory arrest seizures, hyperventilation, abuse of addictive substances, poisoning with toxic substances, and metabolic abnormalities.

• The fainting that occurs at this time is not called a simple fainting. Fainting caused by any primary illness or cause is called pathological fainting or pathological fainting.

• When fainting, these two types of fainting should be diagnosed differently.

• Sometimes these two types of fainting cannot be easily distinguished.

• In addition, fainting can be caused by hysteria (transitional disorder/transitional hysteria), psycho-emotional problems, coughing, and anemia

. • This kind of fainting is not referred to as simple fainting, but rather referred to as morbid fainting or morbid fainting.

• Pathological fainting can occur when treated with diuretics and beta-block agents.

• Hypoglycemia, convulsions, stroke, and migraine can cause pathological fainting.

• These faintings belong to non-cardiovascular fainting (source; Contemporary pediatrics, August 2008. p.29).
