달리기 운동을 할 때 대퇴골, 경골, 비골, 종골, 거골 등에 피로 골절이 생길 수 있다.
피로 골절을 행군 골절, 불충분한 골절, 또는 스트레스 골절이라고도 한다.
하지 등 여러 부위 뼈에 피로 골절이 생길 수 있다.
경골에 가장 흔히 생길 수 있다. 그 다음 중족골, 그 다음 비골, 주상골, 종골 등의 순서로 피로 골절이 흔히 생길 수 있다.
태퇴골 경에도 생길 수 있다.
슬개골, 좌골, 요골, 상완골에도 생길 수 있다.
스트레스 골절이 생긴 그쪽 다리나 신체부위를 움직일 때 통증이 더 생길 수 있고 골절된 뼈가 있는 부위에 압통이 생기고 그쪽 발로 뛸 때나 그 부위를 쓸 때 통증이 다시 더 생긴다.
6~8주 동안 심한 달리기 운동을 한 후 생기는 것이 보통이다.
병력, 증상, X 선 사진 검사, MRI 검사 등으로 진단 할 수 있다.
피로 골절이 생긴 뼈에 따라 정도에 따라 달리 치료할 수 있다.
레스트(안정), 부동화 치료, 브레이싱, 카스팅 등으로 치료하고,
드물게는 수술 치료한다.

• Stress fractures can occur in the femur, tibia, fibula, calcaneus, and talus during running.

• Stress fractures are also called march fractures, insufficient fractures, or stress fractures.

• Stress fractures may occur in bones in various areas such as the lower extremities.

• It is most common in the tibia. Stress fractures often occur in the order of the metatarsal bone, then the fibula, the navicular bone, and the calcaneus.

• It can also occur in the femoral neck.

• It can also occur in the kneecap, ischial bone, radius, and humerus.

• You may experience more pain when moving the same leg or body part where the stress fracture occurred, tenderness in the area with the fractured bone, and more pain when running or using that area with that foot.

• It usually occurs after 6 to 8 weeks of intense running exercise.

• Diagnosis can be made by medical history, symptoms, X-ray examination, and MRI examination.

• Depending on the bone in which the stress fracture occurred, it can be treated differently depending on the severity.

• Treatment with rest (stability), immobilization treatment, bracing, casting, etc.

• Rarely, surgical treatment.
