뇌 종양으로 인한 두통 Headache due to brain tumors

  • 뇌종양으로 생긴 두통은 뇌종양을 적절히 진단 치료하지 않는 한 계속 되는 것이 보통이고 뇌종양이 난 뇌 부위, 종양의 크기와 진행 정도, 뇌 종양의 종류에 따라 두통의 정도와 형태가 다를 수 있다.
  • 기침을 할 때나 운동을 할 때, 또는 대변을 볼 때와 같이 뇌압이 증가되면 두통이 더 심해지는 것이 보통이다.
  • 다 그렇지는 않지만, 두통이 뇌종양으로 생기면 일반적으로 그 두통의 정도가 심하고 참을 수도 없을 정도이다.
  • 평소에 하던 일을 할 수 없을 정도로 두통이 심한 것이 보통이다.
  • 그 두통이 점점 더 심해지고 자주 생길 수 있다.
  • 아침에 잠자리에서 일어난 날 때나 앉아 있다가 일어설 때는 두통이 더 심해질 수 있다.
  • 어느 때든지 머리의 위치를 갑자기 바꿀 때 두통이 더 심할 수 있다.
  • 말로 두통이 머리의 어느 부위에 있다는 것을 제대로 표현할 줄 모르는 영유아들은 뇌종양으로 머리가 아플 때는 그냥 보채고 잘 놀지 않을 수 있다.( 뇌 종양 참조)
  • 뇌종양이 점점 더 커지면서 구토를 점점 더 자주 그리고 더 심하게 할 수 있다.
  • 자다가 두통으로 깰 수 있다.
  • 편두통을 앓는 아이들의 가족들은 편두통 가족병력이 있을 수 있으나 뇌종양을 앓는 아이들의 가족들은 편두통 가족병력이 없는 경우가 많다.
  • 진찰 소견에서 고혈압이 발견될 수 있고 케르니히 징후 (Kernig’s sign)나 브루드진스키 징후 (Brudzinski’s sign)등이 나타날 수 있고 뇌신경 이상, 머리통이 비정상적으로 클 수 있고,
  • 사시, 보행실조, 팔다리 근육에 힘이 없고, 안저 유두부종, 머리를 한쪽으로 기우림, 대천문의 팽만, 양 동공의 크기에 차이 등이 나타날 수 있다.
  • 뇌종양의 종류에 따라 내분비 이상이 생길 수 있다.
  • 병력, 증상 징후, 진찰소견, 뇌 CT 스캔, 뇌 MRI 검사, EEG 검사 등으로 진단한다.

• Headaches caused by brain tumors usually continue unless the brain tumor is properly diagnosed and treated, and the degree and shape of the headache may vary depending on the area of ​​the brain where the brain tumor is located, the size and progression of the tumor, and the type of brain tumor.

• Increased brain pressure, such as when coughing, exercising, or stooling, usually makes the headache worse.

• Not all, but when a headache is caused by a brain tumor, the headache is usually severe and intolerable.

• It is common to have a severe headache so that you cannot do what you normally do

. • The headache gets worse and can occur more often.

• Headaches can get worse when you wake up in the morning or when you stand up from sitting.

• The headache can be more severe if you suddenly change the position of your head at any time.

• Infants and toddlers who don’t know how to properly express that the headache is in any part of their head may just be shy and not play well when their head hurts due to a brain tumor (see Brain Tumors).

• As brain tumors get larger, they can vomit more and more often and more severely. • You can wake up from a headache while sleeping

• Families of children with migraine headaches may have a family history of migraine headaches, but families of children with brain tumors often do not have a family history of migraine headaches.

• High blood pressure may be found in the examination findings, Kernig’s sign or Brudzinski’s sign may appear, cranial nerve abnormalities, and the head may be abnormally large.

• Strabismus, gait loss, lack of strength in limb muscles, fundus papillary edema, head tilt to one side, bulging of the astronomical gate, and differences in the size of both pupils may appear.

• Depending on the type of brain tumor, endocrine abnormalities may occur.

• Diagnosis is based on medical history, symptom signs, examination findings, brain CT scan, brain MRI scan, EEG scan, etc.
