후두, 후두개, 성대의 구조

- 인두의 맨 아래 부분은 식도의 최상 부분(식도의 입구)으로 연결되고 후두의 최상 부분으로 연결된다.
- 후두 기도 부분의 최상부에 후두개(Epiglottis)가 있다.
- 후두개는 섬유 연골 조직으로 구성됐고 후두의 뚜껑이다(그림131 참조).
- 후두개의 크기는 후두 기도 부분의 입구를 덮을 수 있을 정도이다. 물론 나이에 따라 크기가 다르다.
- 후두개의 기시부는 후두 체부의 상부에 붙어 있고 후두개의 상부는 인두가 있는 쪽을 향해 열여 있고 그 최상 부분은 어디에도 붙어 있지 않은 채로 있다.
- 후두개는 인두강 속 음식물, 구토물, 또는 이물 등이 인두 속에서 후두 기도 부분 속으로 흡인되지 않도록 후두 기도 부분을 덮어 막는 기능을 한다.
- 다시 설명하면, 후두개는 말 그대로 필요에 따라 후두 기도 부분을 덮어 이물이 기도 속으로 들어오지 못 하게 막아 주는 역할을 한다.
- 후두개는 아주 작은 생살 뚜껑이고 없어서는 안 되는 아주 중요한 기도의 일부분이다. 후두개에게 감사드린다.
- 후두는 후두개 이외 가성 성대와 진성 성대가 있다.
- 요약하면, 인두의 최 하부와 기관의 최 상부의 사이에 있는 호흡기계의 기관을 후두라고 한다.
- 후두에는 한 개의 후두개가 붙어 있고 후두의 체부 속에 발성을 할 수 있는 성대가 있다.
- 또 후두 부분의 체부에는 공기가 통과할 수 있는 숨 통로, 즉 기도가 있다.
- 그 통로를 후두 부분의 기도라고 한다.
- 후두를 중심으로 해서 후두의 최 상부에서부터 비강까지의 기도를 상기도라고 하고, 후두의 최 하부에서부터 세기관지 끝까지의 기도를 하기도라고 한다.
